@cbr900rr919, thanks, forgot to mention bigger rods. I love 383's too, they're are torquey. I bet your friend's car is a blast to ride in when he gets on it. I was thinking of boring and stroking my 5.3L into a 383 and turboing it. It'll move my 98 s10 pretty good.

@boostedsedan and 6.0 inch rods dont forget 383's are sweet motors my friend has one thats pushing 620 hp N/A will pull a huge wheelie

@tatteddawg815, you mechanic friends told you wrong. Changing the stroke, changes displacement. To the guy that runs the engine shop, a 383 is the 350 with a 400 crank.

You guys are all dum asses. I personally run my own engine shop. A 355 is a stock stroke 350, with the cylinders bored .030 over size. But, it is still a 350 stroke. A 383 is a 400 with a 350 crank. Or vice versa. With custom pistons.
