In August 1947, the British decided to quit India after nearly 200 years of taking power. India, one the most ethnically diverse nations in the world was to be divided. One country will now become two, India and Pakistan. The once peaceful land now implodes, people are forced out the villages that they have lived in for generations. 15 million scramble to be on the right side of the boarder, at least 1 million die in the process. Communities that have lived together for centuries turn on each other in one of the worst communal massacres of the 20th century. Britain the once great colonial power looks on as India Burns.

If Indian and Pakistani government start proceedings and punish the offenders (even though it is symbolic), it would stop any further violence in India and Pakistan.

The slaughter of the innocents. So sad. We owe it to those humans.

@yootubep: I am sure we can find people in India and Pakistan who brag about defending their communitites (in fact they were attacking other human beings, not defending). I'm from Pakistan and I believe there are many on both sides. It's about time we give these people (alive & dead) at least a Criminal Record for crimes against humanity.

It'll be a deterrence to future massacres!

@karamal1 What you are asking is not in our genes.There are donkeys ruling on both the sides n both governments are full of criminals. Do you expect criminals to do justice to punish anyone?Moreover, who knows that whom we are calling criminals are actually the reason why our fathers and grand fathers were spared alive during that time. Maybe because of those criminals actions whole village would have saved.Can we compare those people who defended their territories with criminals. I think not.

The vedio is 100% true .It is not in support of any. No such things have done to Muslims . In ur Pakistan school they teach false things to u..If it was so then more Muslims would not be staying in India.

Horrible !! Horrible !! memories.

Initially I use to think that Indian govt deliberately spreads rumors that it was Muslims who started riots for obvious reasons.But ever since I came out of India.every historian from different part of the world confirms it.

I hate Muslims so much, that I have no words to express my self.

But as ancient wisdom says 'Forgive but never forget', we will never forget Islamic oppression of centuries and this massacre.One day this Evil ideology will pay for it.
