A prototype showing the current state of my work on Ocean Water Rendering and Simulation for my MSc final project.

The heightmap is animated using Fast Fourier Transforms for the height displacement and for the wave chopping as described in the paper by Tessendorf.

Rendering includes global and local reflections and refractions using projective texturing and environment mapping, foam rendering (not very noticeable in this video since the weather is calm).

The simulation is written in C++/OpenGL/GLSL

  • @DarkTripYT which part of the word prototype isn't clear to you? This was less than 1 week work and was just the start, never had time/bothered to capture and upload the final project. Send me a PM with your email address if you are interested in the full dissertation and code (if you're not too busy revolutioning the gaming industry with your awesome skillz, or playing with balls)
