Though they don't seem much like us, zebra fish can be a powerful research tool in the fight against cancer. They develop rapidly, are transparent as embryos, and—at the molecular level—have biological mechanisms that are highly relevant to those of mammals, such as angiogenesis (a process tumors use to grow and metastasize by developing new blood vessels). This video shows a 4X and 20X magnification of the blood flowing through a three-day-old zebra-fish embryo.
