From the Documentary " Gizmo " This is an early parachute test.
They wanted to test the parachute before trying on a plane. I''m guessing this footage is from the 1920's. It looks like he took a couple of hard hits against the cliff. He looks sore when he lands , but when he sees the camera is on him, he raises his arm like he is o.k.

  • How stupid, I'd say...

  • How is that safer in any way shape or form? base jumping with a round canopy. good idea? right.

  • Awesome ground launching footage!

  • I had to revisit this vid cause it's so funny. The sound of him hitting the cliff is too much. BOOF!

Naimed is right, that's a tough job to have.

  • lol no freakin way that guy smacked the side of that stone cliff that damn hard two times and got up like it was nothing. i think this is a case of some early film editing to sell some parachutes

  • Absolutely hilarous!

  • I think in the end, he's trying to say: I'm ok! Don't worry!

  • Safer test, by killing more people than it could have been.

  • Heh,now thats a tough job...

  • ha ! they look for a "safer" testing ground b4 jumping from a plane!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA
