I have decreased the diameter of the inner ring to 3/4 the diameter of the out ring. In time I will use new magnets for the outer ring of a larger diameter.

My current set up works pretty well, and the inner ring does not need extra weight on it, to keep it inside the outer ring.

  • Thanks Alien NRG. Where others have failed, I will succeed. :-) I feel I have a better understanding of how this device works, than most people do and I am going to build the whole device, and hopefully create magic.

  • Thank you! I am pleased with what Ive made, but it is not self sustaining yet, so I will continue to tinker with it until I get it right. Building the full Hamel design is my ultimate goal.

  • Thank you. Stay tuned for trials # 4 and 5. :)

  • White this is an.. interesting thing to build, it will never sustain itself.

  • I applaud your efforts. You have a huge challenge ahead to get this working. The pesky thing about permanent magnets is that they tend to find an equilibrium with other permanent magnets.

  • dude! thats good work!!

that is what its suppose to do!

you are very close to making it work!

  • I hate it when that happens...you had that balanced very well. I have built something similiar about five years ago.
