Sports Hernias are becoming more common especially among young males. A sports hernia occurs when the muscles in the lower abdomen rip or tear causing pain. Sports Hernias are most common in Hockey, Soccer, and Football. A sports hernia can be mistaken for a chronic grain pull so see a trained sports medicine professional for diagnosis.

  • I went to the doctors for my (hernia) Well I can't really say that they said it was NOT a hernia I just find it really hard to believe it's not I have quite a few of the sypmtoms They pressed on my stomach where it was but he said he felt nothing he then continued and did a groin check going down to my groin area and making me cough. He also said Most hernia are protruded through the stomach but I have no bump... It just feels like something is pressing on my stomach if it's not a hernia idk...

  • This was not helpful.

  • i had a SH at 51 from running all the time. I went to William Meyers in Philly to have surgery for it. Hes the man to see - dont waste your time going anywhere else - he did an open incision suture repair of the rectus abdominis where it connects to the pubic bone - dont waste your time with mesh repairs - Meyers has had to reoperate on 150 people that had mesh repairs - do your research but meyers is the only doc in the US that knows how to fix a SH right the first time

  • I have been having the symptoms for months but my athletic trainers are very hard headed and do not want o send me to the doctor. :(

By the way great videos, very helpful i wish the staff at my university would watch it
