  • Yeah I've started reading this book, its fantastic! I loved the part in the book where he dismisses this 'art film' division. I've always thought that just because a film is commercially successful it doesn't mean its a bad film but I've seen so many pompous pricks who dislike a film just because its popular. Anyway it would be excellent if he wrote about Thrillers :)

  • I got this guy's book for X-mas 2 years ago. It was like being blind and then hit in the head with a brick and, after waking up, being able to see for the first time. Any creative writing instructor that has a bad word to say about McKee should be avoided and ignored.

  • @vmaj20 He's actually been trying to write a genre book recently, but he's also a self-admitted procrastinator. If you've got the money and want to hear his advice before he finishes the book, he does do genre workshops.

  • He should stop drinking coffee, his head is going to blow!

  • love his book and i feel Tom Ford's A Single Man is the best "education plot" I've ever seen, if you have not seen it yet, please do yourself a favour and rent it.

  • yeh and you have noi mind of your own. you just accept everything 'the critics' shove in your face. cos your a fucking cock sucking android now fuck off.

  • That's laughable, at best. Critics have almost unanimously lauded There Will Be Blood as one, if not the best film of the last decade. Time to get some taste.

  • @Luke1268 Yeah it wears a bit thin half way through... I understood his brooding but it dragged on with a very unforgivable ending (to satisfy the audience).

  • for example, 'there will be blood'. now what a load of shit. some good lines but c'mon man fuck off

  • Looks like Joel. Or is it Ethan...?

  • Loved STORY, but I disagree with his take on the unconscious mind, because neuroscience shows that there's no such thing as an unconscious mind where the "true self" is hidden.

  • great effin movie :)
