Steve Amerson and SFC Sammy Davis share a very special performance of Shenandoah. SFC Davis received the Medal of Honor for his actions in Vietnam, and the character of Forrest Gump and his Medal of Honor citation in the movie was based on Sammy's real one. SFC Davis shares an amazing story about his time in Vietnam, and how he learned to play Shenandoah on his harmonica. This performance was a part of a Broadway Salute to the Troops hosted by Steve Amerson, and Laurie Gayle Stephenson. Thank you for your service and sacrifice, Sammy. Your selfless deeds are truly an inspiration that I have shared with many, including my children. I am good friends with one of your Nam buddies, Steve, that shared this with me, as I will share with other friends. Thanks again and God bless you and yours.
