HELLION - Upside-Down Guitar Solo & The Hand ann boleyn

This is an ultra-rare video that was taped off of a TV show. The line-up is Chet Thompson (guitar), Ann Boleyn (vocals), Alex Campbell (bass), & Greg Pecka (ex-Dokken: drums) are in the line-up. This was recorded off of a TV show.

This was one of the best bands around in the 1980s and early 1990s. But, for some reason they were not ever signed to a major label. According to the band's foremer manager in an interview, no major record company would sign them because "Ann Boleyn did not sing like a girl." (What did they expect?! She was mentored and discovered by Ronnie James Dio!!) I put this video up so everybody would see how incredible this band was.

I did some research and found that all of the musicians on this recording are still alive and well! It would be great if they would get back together for a show or a new album. (I don't have the time, but, if anybody shares my opinion, maybe somebody could make a petition or something and ask them to re-form for at least a tour. Last I heard, they were managed by Wendy Dio at Niji Management in Studio City California.)

There were actually three videos in the show. "Upside Gown Guitar Solo/The Hand", "Screams In The Night" and (the only one I haven't found on You Tube), "Bad Attitude". I have all the master and work tapes in my basement. I produced these when I was very young. It was nice to find these on You Tube as it's been many years since I've seen them! I thank the person who put the Hellion videos up. You bought back some good memories ;-)

@NeckWatcher Well, Mick pretty much financed, Alice In Thunderland, the band Chet and Mick's wife, Amy Canyon, were in. But then Chet started screwing Amy and there went the funding and the band.

@svt77svt No, Ronnie produced an early demo ca. '83 with the original line-up. The band that recorded this song for 'Screams In the Night' in '86/'87 was totally different except for Ann. Btw, the guitar player in this video, Chet Thompson, was one of Randy Rhoads' student.

the hand is absolutely my favorite all time song....i first heard it on a cassette i bought back in the late 70's called californias best metal....it was track one and i wore it out...must have played it 3000 times at least....i uploaded the studio version off that compilation to my channel and im 54 yrs old and i play the song at least once a week...best friggin song of all time to me

The upside-down(weird angle) guitar playing was really cool.. I'm listening to this for the 1st time, and his skills were smooth and rich in variety and it has really had an impact on me. the band is ofcourse, like i commented for Nevermore, they've definetely taken rock/metal many, many notches higher, for their time. Thanks for this superb videro.

@NeckWatcher Ann did an awesome job filling in for Dawn Crosby (RIP) in Detente (Fear of God). But her voice is perfect for traditional metal and she is the best there is when it comes to female metal vocalists. Nobody has her voice.
