Stiletto Race on Sydney Streets

WONG:
Australian women strapped on their high heels in an attempt to break the world record for "the most number of people ever to participate in a stiletto sprint" on Tuesday.

The pressure was on at the starting line, when more than 260 women lined up in three-inch-high sandals and sling backs. For most of the women, the race was just like any other day dodging the Sydney traffic.

[Runner]:
"No, I run in heels all the time, come on! Got to cross the road somehow."

But for some dashing in stilettos was not so easy. And as the dust settled a few men were spotted wearing them, too.

The winner was professional 400-meter hurdler Brittney McGlone who easily out-ran her competitors.

Organizers claimed the world record title at the end of the race, beating the old mark of 150 set in the Netherlands.
