I have just read in Sidney Wanzer's book "To Die Well" that a Monsignor of the catholic church stated that "it is noble to suffer".
Let us hope he achieves great nobility.

Thank you for your words & service to the cause.
While I'm a non-believer, it is good to see that some religious ppl can support a person's peaceful end. I was raised Catholic, where suffering is almost encouraged - "to atone for a sinful life". There's no compassion in that.
