1 in 3 Native women will be raped in their lifetime reports the Department of Justice

Findings from the U.S. Department of Justice also found that Native women are two and a half times more likely to be raped then a Caucasian woman. Non-native men are reported to be committing 86% of these assaults. Jodi Rave discusses questions of jurisdiction and what level of commitment exists to prosecute these crimes.

I have always wondered why the issues concerning Native Americans are often buried by black/latino issues. Those groups have their complaints, but Native Americans in the US are living in far, far worse conditions. Higher alcoholism, rape, suicide, high school dropout rates. If you watch the mainstream news you wouldn't even know a Native American exists.

rape is one of the most and imo might even be the most cowardly act that can be commited. the native americans plight was and still is horrible. to the people who ignore or dont care about the native americans plight and especially those that revel in it all i can say is i hope one day you get the suffering u deserve and answer for your crimes.

This is horrible. Natives are a small % of the population so how many rapes per year are we talking about?

Native Americans are corrupt. I live on Indian land as a member and in opposition to the Wyandotte Nation I am not allowing the gangsters to push me out of the organization. I have had to contact Governmental official on these individuals for not obeying Federal law they by contract agreed to uphold. Indians are not recognized Federally without this agreement. These people are sexual perverts. Both men and women. They are liars in the most dirty of ways and a threat to stability of good ethics.

It was and still is the US Government that used arms against the Native People. You know, trail of tears, and other inhumane acts.

In the beginning, the Federal Government was small and the independent citizen was (more rights-big) free to do as they pleased (like the Native Americans).

Today you must pay several taxes, are spied upon w/o consent, and the draft is just around the corner; the currency & economy ruined in the process.
