I would like to add a simple fact to this exchange for people who support the UN. The UN, since 1948, has bombed and raided more Radio Stations, Newspaper outlets, and Television news outlets than all other military forces/conflicts combined. Any body that spends so much effort suppressing free speech through violence, must really have something to hide, and something to gain. Please look up "Katanga" as the classic case for what the UN does to functioning independent nations. Thanks

There are no " Tea Baggers" associated with this effort, and there are no " Christian Ideologues" among WTPofRI. ex: I am a Non-Christian, and the other team members do not support the notion that Christian principles are at the core of the Founding. The U.N. is a colossal failure, utterly incapable of action.

It's generally agreed that its "goal" is to resolve international issues via debate and to prevent war.

Has it achieved this goal? No.

Since its formation in 1945, it was paralyzed by the USA-USSR and totally ineffective during the Cold War.

After the cold war, it failed to prevent the Rwandan Genocide, Second Congo War, Srebrenica massacre, Somalia, Darfur genocide.

Not to mention Saddam Hussein, North Korea, and Iran's WMD efforts.

ok the UN does some good but peace making and peace keeping that is a barley if that were to be the case many things would have been stoped like the Rwandan genocide come on whats the point of giving the UN acces to military grade firearms and combat armor if they aren't going to use it. Have you even read the UN charter? It specifically states that the one should give up all for the many. No Freedom of Speech. No Freedom of Religion. No Right to Bear Arms. Not even Due Process.
