  • WOW! awesome video, awesome music. who's the piano player on this? also, how did you get this video on here at 22 minutes?

  • Bud Powell's brother Richie Powell on piano.

I have a Director's Account, which allows me to post longer videos.

  • Amazing!! Where can I get precious recording?

    Is it issued?

  • I wish it was available, but it's never been issued. This was from a friend's collection.

  • very nice bebop. Always nice to hear from clifford. Every time I hear his music I cry a little thinking about how he died so young.

  • Priceless!!!

  • This is great. I can't get enough of these two together. My favorite years of both Clifford and Sonny. If you have anymore recordings similar to this I would love to hear them. I have a lot to work on already with this one, but I like to always hear more

  • Who's on Bass?

  • Clifford Brown is a genius! Thanks!

  • @CSERIOS It's available on 'Clifford Brown At the Cotton Club 1956' which is a 3 CD set wRollins,Powell, Morrow & Roach. I got it @blowitoutahere bout six months ago (around $14.00) & it is AMAZING, well worth finding & ordering. Most of the tunes are well over 10 mins in length. It's a must have for anyone who's interested in both C. Brown & S Rollins & Roach. It's a very good recording considering Clifford recorded it on his personal recorder.

  • I have everything that Clifford Brown has recorded, but i have never heard this. Thank you i'm in heaven.

  • trumpet virtuoso amazingly ahead of its time

  • Clifford and Max are amazing, but check out the brilliance and imagination Sonny Rollins and his sense of humor (his love of quoting some very familiar motifs

    (i.e. Happy B-Day)

  • @logalogalog

Correct but let's hear something from him!

  • Thanks Logalogalog... I was confusing June 26th with his age.

It is an incredible legacy of work at any age!

  • Yes, that was Diz who said that.
