Nearly 1000 people came to see 3 films. First, "The Drifter", Rob Machado's new award winning film. Then, "Dear & Yonder", another award winner that shines the spotlight on some of the best woman surfers from the the past and present. Also shown was Keiko Beatie's historical look at the surfing at Honolua Bay. This crowd favorite had people cheering as the viewed their beloved Honolua from the 60's and 70's. All of this was a benefit for the Save Honolua Coalition. Mahalo to the Maui Film Festival, Keiko Beatie, Maui Art's & Cultural Center, Billabong, Honolua Surf Co., Roxy, & Hurley. And to Surfrider Maui, Akaku Television, and the Maui Time Weekly for helping promote this event.
