Youtube videos won't play after Flash 10 upgrade - fixed

READ THIS, IF YOU CAN'T SEE THE VIDEO!!!

Okay, after I upgraded to Flash 10, I can't view Youtube videos anymore. What the heck, I got fustrated. So I tried everything...uninstall, re-install, reboot,...everything. Until I did more research, and came to this solution. Hope this helps you.

NOTE: Tested on Vista Home64, Windows 7, Firefox 3.6.13 and IE8

Follow the instructions here:

1. Go to a Youtube "CHANNEL" (either yours or anybody's). Not the normal Youtube play page!
2. Right click on the video screen, you will see a menu (... Settings, Global settings, About..)
3. Choose Settings. A pop up window show Adobe Flash Player Settings.
4. Uncheck the Enable hardware accelaration (Display tab), then click Close.
5. Go to the normal Youtube page and play your videos.
6. Finished. (If still not working then read the other topics below).

Copy video URL
Copy video URL at current time
Copy embed html
Report playback issue
Take speed test
Stop download
Show video info
Copy debug info

It's like the video just isn't there. It's either a black or white screen.

If all that fails go to tools on your ie menu and make sure Active X filtering is UNchecked and leave it unchecked as I have noticed I cant watch these videos with it checked.

What about those of us who've had the new youtube forced on us? If you go to your own or someone else's channel the latest video doesn't appear the way it used to for you to access the global settings menu.

@Wh0rse Hello, FINALLY something that worked. Thank you! I've tried everything & searched everywhere & this worked! Yoo-hoo!

I used Tools drop-down at top of Firefox browser. At the bottom of list is Adblock Plus with 3 options for disable:

--Disable on youtube.com

--Disable on this page only

--Disable everywhere

I chose "Disable on youtube.com" and Voila I can see videos.Even the video above started playing

I have a feeling I'll also be checking "Disable Everywhere" soon.

i just disabled ad-block plus 2.03 in my Firefox Extensions menu and now the videos work again. I never blocked youtube videos, FUCK YOU ADBLOCK

I solved my problem on firefox when I press F11 ( I was on fullscreen all the time)
