  • Bunch of fools these days. Ka-t or sr20 is just a personal preference. Both engines have proven themselves time and time again and have their pros and cons. Seen both of them reach 500+ hp on stock internals. It really boils down to tuning and nit cheaping out where it counts when making power and reliability. It really is cheap when it comes to parts for the ka because everyone has them and just toss them out. More ppl are now coming to the ka- t side because they are realizing that power can

  • @madk180sx You're right! It don't matter what engine it really depends on how much HP and what your goals are! But if I do say one thing its: a 240sx either needs a KA-t, SR20, RB 25+, or an LS... nothing else :)

  • Whats your WHP ..??

  • @usernameE85 I would say around the 400-420whp on 25psi

  • :( no sr20. still ka-t's still a strong motor.. really nice car hella fresh

  • @gokartmaster123 thanks man! On 25psi we got him by a car on his old set-up... now he is making 408whp on 16psi with a GT30r ;)

  • @Becharco **street racing is fun

  • @1KeinPlan 2jzgte

  • t67 bro,, thing dint even spool

  • @1KeinPlan I liked this until i saw LS That Ruins a great car! putting a chevy motor into a prime JDM car

  • @1KeinPlan scrap all those, 2jz or 1jz :)

  • @keyrabuns69 Well I would have kept my SOHC KA if the pistons didn't have a date with the valves. Ended up putting a whole on top of the piston. Move on to a T3 or T4 turbo. Yes the stock sr20's suck. You have to upgrade them. That's why I got a T70 now. :)

  • @Lobo240sx lol cant afford a real swap? its because why downgrade to a smaller motor with pansy ass small dick t25 and side mount and a plethora of junkyard motor problems from japan? To make a sr20 worth a fuck in the first place you have to UPGRADE everything that you would need to buy for a turbo ka....... The ka crowd is more for people who know how to do shit themselves and not buy out of a catalogue and simply "bolt it on". Cam and bucket owns shitty rocker arms any day of the week.

  • @1KeinPlan i agree with, all except the HP, because a ka-t with less horse power than sr20, still has a better torque curve, its not all about hp, its about getting what hp you have to the wheels. ;D

  • @gokartmaster123 Hey this ignorant comment would fly 4 or 5 years ago when KAT had no love, but the situation is pretty well reversed these days. People are leaning toward the KA motor more than the SR for the reasons Drifting stated. The appeal of the sr20 in the past was almost completely due to the lack of aftermarket support for the KA motor. Everything had to be done custom. These days that's just not true, and it's not unreasonable to have a 300RWHP moster KA up and running in a weekend.
