BUFFALO - Buffalo Sabres forward Patrick Kaleta will meet with NHL disciplinarian Brendan Shanahan today to discuss a head-butting incident on Jakub Voracek from Wednesday night's game against the Philadelphia Flyers.
The incident occurred five minutes into the first period during a battle for the puck along the boards. Kaleta stepped helmet-first into Voracek, catching the Philadelphia player on the helmet and visor and knocking him backwards.
No penalty was called and play continued.
The Flyers won the game 3-2 on the strength of three goals in the first period.
Kaleta has been suspended once in his career, for two games in Nov. 2009. On that occasion, which was also against the Flyers, Kaleta was called for a major boarding penalty against Jared Ross.
