About safety on the streets of Bogotá, D.C., Colombia (South America):

ボゴタの街、リトルコンサート
Little concert in the streets of Bogotá
Petit concert dans les rues de Bogotá
Piccolo concerto per le strade di Bogotà
Pequeño concierto en las calles de Bogotá-----------------------------------------

The difference between the perceptions of Colombia is astonishing. Foreigners are always shocked at how much of a contradiction it is to actually live in Colombia. People often hear all the bad negative stuff but tourists are always pleasantly surprised to experience the exact opposite! Colombia is a very interesting and diverse country, and the warnings and media do no justice to such a wonderful place (extremely different from the primitive war-torn country that everyone thinks it is): people are frequently educated, perceptive and well-informed; in many cases a lot more cultured than in other countries and always warm, charismatic, and fun to be with. FOOD is DELICIOUS and there's always a party or a celebration going on: Concerts, Museums, Theater, fine restaurants every day. Almost everyone agrees that Bogotá it's safer than many North American cities (like NY, Chicago, Philadelphia or LA). Because of so many BAD movies people think that Bogotá D.C. is some wild countryside ruled by drug dealers and that it is super dangerous. Colombia has gotten its reputation becauseof the media, but looking at the murder rate per capita it is much lower than the rest of America (that is, the Continent). It is just another big city (about 10million ppl), not any more dangerous than many other cities around the world. OBVIOUSLY you should stay out of places that you would know with A LITTLE COMMON SENSE not to go, as in any other city in the world. I have always felt very safe here. Just avoid wandering the streets alone at night or taking any unnecessary risks as you would not anywhere else. Bogotá is surely safer than Mexico D.F. and Rio de Janeiro, cities full of tourists. Of course Colombia has many problems, but it is much safer than people imagine. As long as you heed local advice and STAY OUT OF THE BAD AREAS you will be fine.

  • Por qué no toca sentado?

  • @SilkeyEdgar

--- No fue algo planeado, se nos ocurrió en el momento por la petición de algunos estudiantes, mientras transportábamos el clave del camión al auditorio.

--- It wasn’t premeditated or anything. It just occurred out of the blue while carrying the harpsichord from the truck to the concert hall, by request of some students in the street.
