from udK, one of the biggest "chef" of the Xda-Developers kitchen.

The tool make it easy to flash, backup, restore, wipe etc. the device. It's in
prototypal version: we don't know when it will be released (sorry! :( ).

Gianni, alias Gti for SoloPalmari, with the HTC Desire HD and a tool for geeks: ClockworkMod Recovery Desire for HTC Desire HD modded by UDK. Who is udK? He is one of

the world's most famouse "chef" for Windows Mobile and Android, and is one of the gurus of Xda-Developers.

The tool is primarily aimed at geeks: simplifies many of procedures for flashing the ROM and other operations of "modding". For example: create or restore a backup,

clear cache, reset all memory (wipe), and so on.

Among the advantages there is the fact that it is not necessary to flash the original recovery partition of the HTC Desire HD. In addition there are numerous useful

functions, like partitioning sd, check the partitions, make backups, restore etc.

To get work ClockworkMod on Desire HD you must restart the system and activate the recovery mode: it is done by holding down simultaneously, during powering up, the

power button and volume down.

Caution: do not just turn off and turn on your smartphone: because of the Instant Boot that was introduced by the new HTC Sense, you will not enable the recovery mode.

Once you entered the recovery mode launch the tool, which we called "update.zip" and we have saved in the root of the microSD.

This modified version created by udK for HTC Desire HD does not currently have a dedicated function keys: you must press in rapid succession the volume up button, then

the power button.

The tool, which is not publicly available, is prototypal: unfortunately we don't know the release time.

Peccato che quando ci provo il menu passa direttamente in HBOOT! non riesco a selezionare il recovery od altro!!

So, what you should actually do is choose RESTART, not POWER OFF and from there on press VOLUME DOWN + POWER simultaneously; otherwise it won't enter boot, but keep starting the ROM.
