And yet we " CAN NOT blame God" As I said this old understanding is incomplete. I think each human must take more responsibility. Responsibility for our selves and our world but also for God. God can not be fully healed and changed unless this healing and changes manifests down in creation.

Yes, the mental gymnastics required to support these scriptures, are tiring, I used to defend these accounts myself.

It is true that "reality" is harsh and cruel, we only have to look at the natural world to see that, and if Yahweh "is" the true God and created and sustains this cruelty, then it is a blessing that we have freewill to opt out of worship.

If others wish to support these horrors, good luck to them.

An almighty God could have stopped this process from the get go. IMO

And it's not that I'm saying that religion is the cause of unnecessary death throughout history, but it is in the sense that it easily breeds fanaticism which is the true danger to humanity.

well the old testament god is the jewish god, and they had their day of violence, as far as acts or war and terror I feel that the jewish faith and christianity have passed through that stage, the stage of war in the name of their god that is. I believe that the conditions in some countries with muslim faiths are going through their stage of killing in the name of their god.. in the end it doesn't matter because it's all made up anyways and people kill each other over something made up.
