With European manufacturers promoting diesel technology big time, many Japanese manufacturers have been caught napping. Not so with Subaru. Their new, unique-design boxer diesel engine has found its way under the bonnet of the ever popular Forester model. Watch the video review to find out what we think.

@wowdude2008 Not all Subaru's were AWD.... untill the Outback came to usa some Subaru's were 4X4s. The GL had a transfer case that went from 2WD to 4WD hi and 4WD lo.... When the GL became the Legacy then they were 2WD and 4WD. I would have to check it out but i found a XT6 that is advertised as being just a FWD... Not to bust your balls but that's the case that they were all AWD

I own this car for over a year and I am still amazed. It never let me down. A bit noisy when driving over 120 km/h, but hey, it is not a limo, it is a car that likes adventures.

The only problem i see is that I doubt that people would be willing to buy the Subaru Outback or Forester if it's labelled as a Boxer Diesel. I know I would buy it, but I doubt most people would. Perhaps it would sell better if it was sold as Subaru CRD, or even Boxer CRD.

Although I've never owned a Subaru of any kind, I've always liked Subaru cars, particularly those with AWD. It's about time they offered diesel engines in their cars. I just wish it was offered here in the USA.
