The cost of production is largely due to the process. You can't pick up the materials at Lowes and chop up something similar in your average garage.
This is very exciting - a manufacturer (and not an independent luthier) doing something original and innovative. The sound really lively - gorgeous!

I had a chance to play one and it played and sounded amazing.

@rafsbio i like the idea of new shapes and designs but this shouldnt cost this much, and is extremely ugly in my opinion. that's not to say that everyone will agree, but that's just my thoughts.

@ReinerLB It was £1549 at Coda music in the UK. List is £1599 but I got a sweet discount from a guy there named Doug. I should take delivery in about the first week of March all being well.. I can't fault Coda though, they really have been first class every step of the way. I can't wait for the baby to arrive!

@petehsuk Congratulations! That´s a really good and innovate sounding/looking guitar. How much did you pay for it?...I want a Stratosphear, hope there´s not too much difference on the price.

I take delivery of a psonicsphear in jupiter orange in 3-5 weeks. I'm interesting in hearing the pickups out of phase, and hearing the pickups through my equipment in general to be fair. I can't wait.. A very fresh new looking guitar from one of the hottest and most innovative boutique builders around. Nothing more to say.. I hope it plays as good in real as in my head :)
I think is fantastic. Leave strats for Fender and LPs to Gibson. It amazes me seeing guitarrists, who are supposed to be creative, go like "Oh nooo!!! It looks nothing like the 3 or 4 acceptable shapes of guitar!!! Oh the Humanity!!!". Really, guys?
