During the summer of 2008, myself and a few other of my University peers, entered Dare to be Digital the U.Ks first game design competition. Dare 2008 was a competition where 17 teams, across 5 host centres, work to produce a game prototype over a 10 week period. Our team, The Western Lights made it through to the final 17 Teams and got a chance to display our prototype to the public at the Edinburgh fringe festival. During the competition I learned skills that would include working in teams and achieving a goals as a group; also Dare gave us a realistic games industry experience, and a chance to meet people from companies like Rare, Rockstar Games, Lionhead, Ninja Theory and EA games who gave us insightful tips into how to be more productive and what it would be like in a professional company. We were given a blog site for us to show our progress to the th world, and is still available. the site contained blogs about the development and video Diaries which can be viewed at the Dare to Be Digital website, also you can also view some images here via my Gallery
