  • to those who criticize this opera great....you know there was never a statue built of a critic ever. if you could do it better than her, then you would have been up there so you know what, shut up and enjoy it for what it is. music is here to be enjoyed. when you pick it apart you ruin it for the listener. everyone is different and learns different ways to do things. all i know is she is much more well known than any of you critics out there.

  • I love how even her voice is! She doesn't crescendo high notes--thus ruining them--the way other singers do. You can tell she's an excellent Mozart singer. Just such a lovely performance.

  • It's a shame she needs the music for this. It sounds to me like she is being rather careful with voice and memory, and the performance suffers as a result. A beautiful voice, but not used very imaginatively here.

  • Beautiful!

  • DIVINE!

Some have the power to draw down the Divine... & this Lady's got it!!!

  • @PallyPowerXIX Because, like me, you probably enjoy singing. We can't all be Dame Kiris or Joan Sutherlands but music and singing is there for all to enjoy. I sing in a choir, have sung solo and love it but my voice will never come close to these Divas. :)

  • @damekirilover Dame Kiri is still my fav opera singer.Ilove Renee Fleming also,"The Dame" send me chills when she sings that voice!

  • she sounds ill sorry. go listen to Joan Sutherland for a real rendition of this

  • @LolaLola444 Celine Dion thinks she has to change the melody of every song she sings. She wrecks every song. She can't even sing high notes without either screaming or going into falsetto which sounds rediculous. She sounds like she's yodeling! She should stay away from such classics as this song! Whenever she sings I think of someone strangling a cat!!!!

  • @susuemikado Do you actually think the people who post these negative comments have any knowledge of music? There is no requirement to read comments on youtube, and they are frequently crude and uneducated. As you say, just love the music and ignore the ignoramuses.

  • Probably the finest lyric soprano of her generation. And she's my favorite singer. Not my favorite opera singer, not my favorite soprano, she's my favorite SINGER.

  • Celine Dion's voice is too commercial and does not have the thoughful message Rudolph Adams had intended. People will learn and appreciates songs better if they study the background on the music itself and the composers' intentions, not just from media popularity and because few deaf tone people like certain singers because of looks, fancy costumes and hitting some high notes. Kiri does an outstanding interpretation of the composer here.
