Ancient Rat Secret ... Shamila's favorite place to dine! This art project began when I was living in Arizona at the time. I was unpacking plus organizing while going through all my Asian collections in boxes stacked against the wall in the living room. Since it was time to move back to California ... My artistic inspirations hit me late in the wee hours of the night. I chose to create a backdrop scene as if my pet rats had a favorite cuisine restaurant to eat at. Interestingly, my best friend aided in the lighting and photography as I filmed directly from behind on a chair with my video camera. My first customer was originally supposed to be Charlisa, however, ShamiLa appeared to be more interested in the atmosphere including the food. Once I saw her natural rat acting or "being herself," we instantly got to work --- added oriental trinkets with mood lighting to really make one feel the rat was truly dining at an elegant restaurant. Moreover, we were reading up on "The Rat Lady's" wisdom on rats and diet foods ... this also simultaneously influenced us to be inspired by the facts of food variety she provides at her website that rats can devour. Therefore, we were having fun while cooking in the kitchen and decided to serve ShamiLa a bit of rice, broccoli, and a tiny portion of Salmon to taste. All of the cleaning, reorganizing, and making food motivated us with rat ambition to quickly design the make-believe restaurant with all my oriental doll-like furniture of fashionable items to set the scene. Altogether, it was fun! ShamiLa and my other rat enjoyed all the healthy food in small portions.
