Wow, I am simply overwhelmed by the beauty of this. I just discovered this piece yesterday while watching Bärenboim on TV directing it at a festival in Buenos Aires. And then I was wondering what it would look like danced to (yes I dance tango) and I get this...what a treat!

It should stay in a movie. "tango philosophy", "nowadays tango","soul" please- Do tell.

And Piazzolla, he is by some still known as the "tango assassin"

This music is "Tanti Anni Prima" ("Ave Maria") by Astor Piazzolla. It was actually used in a movie - Enrico IV, based on play by Luigi Pirandello. To my opinion this piece is one the most brilliant ones written by Piazzolla. Such masters as Gidon Kremer performed it. As to Chicho: he is and will remain the engine, the brain and the soul of nowadays tango. This particular performance, although poorly recorded is touching in terms of tango philosophy and spectacular in terms of dance technique.

ah now, a little logic please. you are listening to music recorded on probably a mobile phone and then uploaded to youtube. ur not going to get good quality reproduction - u only hear a few frequencies so no surprise it sounds tinny. and there is a difference between the easily entertained and the easy ! !

This 'muzak' sounds like the opening credits to a soap opera. It's saccharine and soulless. Why would you dance to it unless your movements come first and then you find whatever sounds to apply them to. This is the antithesis of tango. It doesn't matter how well the movements are executed. It is mere eye candy for the easy entertained masses.

This 'muzak' sounds like the opening credits of a soap opera. Why would you want to dance to something with absolutely No soul? Is it so the sounds don't get in the way of your dancing moves and skill? Whatever..just please don't call what they are doing tango.
