on April 4th at Cartoon Upfront Execs announced that this coming fall the latest animated Batman Series will begin airing on Cartoon Network. The series, titled Batman the Brave and the Bold, from the same production team as the Legion of Super Heroes series, will follow the format of the Brave and the Bold books and basically be a team up title and will feature heroes such as Blue Beetle, Green Arrow, Aquaman and more. The new series will be rooted in its own continuity and while the art appears to be a bit campy with it airing on friday night along with the clone wars it might be a bit more mature in content that the previous series. This continues the great tradition of batman animated series and looks to be exciting. I think that Cartoon network is a good home for the show and the brave and the bold format will keep it fresh and exciting throughout. The other characters he partners up with are said to be providing the comic relief which will be good to play off the dark style of batman. The art is an interesting pop art style definitely leaning toward the golden age costumes I'm curious as to what time it will be set in. Animated fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming year with Batman The Brave and The Bold coming to Cartoon Network, Wolverine, and Iron Man coming to Nick toons which you can get more info on in a previous Shazap segment. Keep a look out

  • Batman TAS really is the best piece of American Animation that has ever been done. I'm also a big Batman Beyond fan. I own the first season on DVD and watch it all the time. I wish they would make more of the Batman Beyond but I'm afraid of what they'd do to BTAS if they tried to do something else with it. It had its run and needs to be left alone.

  • When I was a boy I read Marvel. When I became a man I put aside Marvel and read DC.

  • this new batman show sucks. im sorry, it just sucks. it isnt dark like the original series, the batman beyond series or "the batman" series on kids WB. it is so cartoony and i know its a cartoon (lol) but it lacks the grit, the realism and the stylish design the other batman series had. they try to compensate by smothering you with a million new characters in every episode but its still just a pile of goat shit.

  • this man is so FABULOUS!

  • @polkafrenzy666

Im aware that they started batman, but for gods sake, its cheesy and stupid as hell. are they fun to go back and watch? yeah, but you cant bring back the charm. all they are bringing back is the campyness. This is a step backward. the 90's batman was dark, deep, powerful and challenging for younger audiences. it is superior to anything the old batman gave us. as for being a minority, aside from kids and "old-school" bataman fans, im not. most fans of the serious batman hate it.

  • @arbitor365 If you don't think the 50's and 60's had a big influence on who Batman is today then maybe you're the fucking moron. I happen to love Batman in almost every single form he has ever appeared in and I love that they brought back that old school team-up cheesiness that I love so much. It was a big risk in today's "Its gotta be darker" society and it paid off big time. You are in the minority on not liking the new show trust me on that.

  • @Mathew1985AZ

seriously man. its like the "batman and robin" (movie) of the that cartoon shows. it comepletely ignores everything that has made batman what it is today. they do away with all the dark, edgy, stylish and deep storylines and revert back to the 60's style of batman with slapstick, humor and cheesiness. how can they step so far backwards especially when riding the momentum of "the dark night?" they are fucking morons.

  • @arbitor365 this batman series is not batman, its gayman.

  • I like the new batman a lot

theres also much comedy in there i like that

it just feels good to watch it and see so many dc heroes

  • @arbitor365 Also the first Flash is in this series and not the one that came out in the 1960's. I agree with You but so far, there had been some good epsiodes, but You can't compare it to TAS Batman which is 100 times better.

I will say one good thing about this series, the Blue Beetle is really the only cool character on this show besides Batman and the Green Arrow. I wish Blue Beetle would get his own series.

  • @arbitor365 This Cartoon series was made to look and feel like the 1950's Batman series.. If You ever read any comic of Batman from the 1940-1950's You would notice that CatWomen in this Batman series is the 1950's version of CatWomen and not the Modern version that most of us are use too.
