@awimagic Yea, that's a fair concern. I really get a kick out of doing this. I love the fact that only some people get it the first time you take your hand out. It makes me smile every time.

:) good ... i sometimes wonder if all the thinking that we put in to the contruction of the tricks ever reaches across to the laymen !

@awimagic I own this effect and, though I do like Tony's routine, I find myself inclined to agree with you and when I perform it, I usually do use two big men for the very reasons you mentioned.

yeah but if you think about it if you have to muscle men come up and ask them to pull on the rope as tight as they can they will snap his hand clean off and then they'll have a lawsuit coming up for cutting off his hand.

My comment would seem awfully rude and may not be correct at all but here it is anyways.
For the purposes of such tricks it should make sense to invite 2 well built men to reinforce the fact that the tie was solid. His patter should then have hinted towards the general built of the men and how utterly impossible it would be to escape. C
Choosing a girl and a gentle looking guy won't sell the tie.
I have no clue of the working conditions so please forgive if this does not make sense.
