GINGRICH PALIN AND THE NIXON "SOUTHERN STRATEGY"

In case your too young or don't remember what Nixon's "Southern Strategy was, allow me to refresh your memory ."In American politics, the Southern strategy refers to a Republican Party method of winning Southern states in the latter decades of the 20th century and first decade of the 21st century by exploiting opposition among the once segregationist South to the cultural upheaval of New Left, Vietnam protests, the hippie culture, gun control, abortion and to desegregation and the Civil Rights and Women's movements" . In short, the Southern Strategy is appeal to the racist, sexist, homo phobics, far right Christan fundamentalist, regressive protectionist .Which brings us to the Southern Republican "Leadership " pep rally .Now I'm not saying this strategy is exclusive to the South . It's not . Nor am I saying all the South shares these sentiments .They don't . It just seems that the concentration of anti-progressive causes seem rampant in this region, now and historically . Keith talks with Bloomberg's Margaret Carlson about the circus which is known as the Southern Republican Leadership convention . Or as I like to call it, ground zero for every thing that's wrong with our country .
