I say Mario and some of his friends with Bowser should be in it too so this can be the first game where Sonic can race Mario in cars and so Mario can meet Jet the Hawk and his gang.

I think they are trying to still prove he's the fastest on land,air and next is probably water.

The part about sonnic drift being released before mario kart is inaccurate. The first ever mario kart (Super Mario Kart for the SNES) was released in August 1992 and Sonic Drift was released 2 years later on March 1994.
Either way, its pretty obvious that both games are different and both can be just as enjoyable. I won't pass any judgement on this game til I get my hands on it, but I'm really looking forward to playing this game.
