I like this song. You play it very well.

Great tune; No doubt it is Durang's. Can you hear Soldier's Joy in there??
-
Great tune! You know this sounds a lot like another oldtime tune - "Uncle Joe". You guys sound great together. Live the fiddle/banjo combination. I'm learning oldtime fiddle myself. Thanks for giving me another tune to work on. If you're ever in the Jackson, TN area - stop by The Old Country Store and pick with us. We have a weekly Oldtime Music Jam every Thur. Night.

We play on the Univ of PA campus just off of a walkway. We don't want to hide in a corner because it is nice when people are affected by the music. We see lots of smiles.
what kind of banjo is that? i love the tone...

It's a Weymann 5-string openback made in 1927. It does have a nice tone. I have a vellum head on it and the sound does shift with the weather. You have to keep up with it when the humidity shifts. Thanks. Larry

Hey Larry,
Remember the year we camped next to each other at clifftop.

OF course, Chance. How are you? You are sounding great on "dance all night with a bottle in your hand". Wow. Have not been back to Clifftop since 2005. It is on my list though. Larry

Wonderful! Come on down to SW MO and join some of our hootenannies. You'd fit right in.

WOW....Sounds Great! See you Saturday. I am going to Brooklyn NY for a little gathering this week. Been to Clifftop, WV for the big old timey gathering a few times. Check that out sometime. 3500 or more people gathered for old timey music and camping. Thanks for your invite. larry
