Anchorsong is the solo project by Masaaki Yoshida from Tokyo, Japan.

He creates music with AKAI MPC2000XL and KORG Triton right in front of the audience.
Some people say, "To see that he constructs music little by little on the stage, reminds me of a painter drawing on a white canvas."

It's a dance music inspired by Hip Hop, House, Electronica, and so on.
But when he performs, he doesn't bring any computer on stage.
He sticks to "play" instruments phisically like a Rock band.

  • the talking in the background is so annoying

  • A true masterpiece!

Im really excited to see him live in London at Koko on the 20th Nov.

  • Rad! I want to see people like this in clubs rather than your regular DJ who just fucks with a track.

  • Man thats a fucking retarded comment, yeah true, most DJ's are glorified versions of iTunes, but if you look at people like the Invisible Skratch Piklz, C2C they use the turntables and mixer as an instrument and create they're own music from sections of other recordings, like sampling but with a more musical element using the turntable as an instrument.

  • Thank fuck for that. How can you call it a concert when you're just playing somone elses music? Stupid DJ's.

Live electronic music (like Anchorsong here) is far better. Creating something from nothing is better than just playing ither poeples music.

Search for Tom Cosm. He's more dance-orientated.

  • G-E-N-I-U-S ...sum real hot shit right there fam !

    1

  • youre right, hes making it purely by himself.

    which is even better

  • Well, if we're gonna be like that Waxsmith, Nothing is DJing except pure scratching and mixing, on vinyl, one mixer, two turntables. It's all or nothing.

  • wow amazing

  • Dope, but that's not DJ'ing
