Tutorial: How to read a SDHC Flash Memory Card with a Sandisk Sansa Shaker Kids MP3 Player. (CC)

UPDATE: I bought a USB SDHC Card Reader from walmart for 10 bucks so I no longer need to do this and it reads and writes to my SDHC card in my digital camera. Heres a link to it on Buy.com.

Buy this tiny device and you can read I think any SD card or SDHC card.

UPDATE: I have downloaded, edited, and re-uploaded the captions.sbv file that youtube creates for the text captions on the video. its not perfect but its my first attempt at it. hope you like it. the system isnt perfect but it beats syncing up the annotations like in that HELLO!! guy with a big cell phone video. I wish youTube would let you simply edit what is said in the video where it shows all the caption text and time codes beside the video. and then his save changes when you are finished.


Do you have a digital camera or other device that uses those SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) memory cards? have you ever tried reading those cards in a USB card reader to no avail? Here is how to read a SDHC memory card using a kids Sandisk Sansa Shaker MP3 player. It's easy as 1-2-3.

1. Take the card out of your camera or device and the card out of the MP3 player, if any.

2. Put the card from your digital camera or device into the Sansa Shaker's SD card slot.

3. Plug the USB cable into the Sansa Shaker's USB port and the other end into a free USB port on your computer. (Use the one that came with the Sansa Shaker)

If done correctly you should see a message pop up in windows asking: "What would you like windows to do?" Choose "Open folder To View Files" and it should open and you can work with your files. from there you can do what you originally intended to do with your files. I am filming this with my PSP b/c I obviously had to use my Canon Camera for the tutorial so sorry about the quality. I was simply trying to read this card to do something and I figured out that I can do it this way so that worked out great. Thanks Sandisk.

Cool Glad to help. but you do know that you can buy a USB SDHC card reader at walmart just go to the electronics section and find someone who works there and ask them for the USB SD card readers get the one buy I think it's targus brand and it can read any SDHC card and it plugs into USB.

you do realise that you put the memory card right into the computer right this is all way more complex than just pluging it in

the SDHC cards do not read on my tower card reader b/c my computer is older. I made this in case someone has the same PC and cards as me. and in case they had this player they can use that but if you read the description any, you can buy a SDHC usb card reader from walmart that eliminates the need for this.
