  • @missmayflower It's a good cast on to use when you want a more stretchy edge - like for the tops of socks, or the brim of a hat, for example.

  • Funny. I'm German and I'm doing the cast on exactly that way - even though I learned it from a Japan book about knitting and never knew that in some countries it's called the German cast on... :)

  • Oh the irony! I learned this exactly a week ago today, except I learned a different, more wiggly version based on the long-tail cast on. Your way looks a heck of a lot simpler!
