  • the thermostat is off, but the fan keeps working intermittently.... what do you think could be the problem?.

    thank you fot your help

  • @bichazo2001 That can be hard to diagnose without seeing it. However on some older furnaces there is a device mounted on them that if it reaches a certain high temp it will turn the blower on until it cools off. I've seen atics get hot enough to turn the blower on until it cools off the sensor by running for a while. Without seeing your system though I can't say for sure. Take care.

  • could you explain to me the reasoning behind you placing the filters on the side of the evap coil? i've never seen that.

  • @bsander135 That's simple! The installers/manufacturers of the house/AC were cheap bastards! (grinning) It originally had foam filters on it but I chuncked them in favvor of something better. I haven't bothered (yet) to buy the filter bas unit for the thing and insall it. (LaZy!)

  • good find on the blower. dam you should be ashamed at the condition you coils are in. at least clean them!!!lol

  • @V8Jagnut lol yah, I told myself I needed to get a toothbrush out to get the sides clean (but obviously haven't done it yet, heh)...... it's due again, been a few years. :>

  • I don't think it's overkill on the choice of that relay. I've noticed that since the relays have been made in china and mexico the contacts and the relay in general don't last as long. So choosing a higher amp relay w/ heaver contact points is a good choice.

  • great video mikie, do you have any more videos on relays and how they are wired? cuz i got an old furnace with combination fan limit switch, relays and ignition control unit.thanks

  • I prefer having a filter back return grill so I can put the filter inside of the house. Cool peek at your a/c.

  • By the way, how do you clean your type of evaporator without taking it out? Only spray the outside and hope the cleaner drips toward the inside?

  • @mikie2501 lol i run my own business cleaning coils and i found in a residential application they need to be cleaned every 6 month of service. and commercial units every 3 month. (depending on conditions). clean it and you will feel better.
