@2026820 Yes I did. I just resolved the issue by replacing the stock messaging app with Handcent. Working great now!

I added an .mp3 file to the notifications folder, went to the sounds settings and changed the notification ringtone to the mp3 player, yet when I sent a text to the phone to test it, it still played the goofy default sound. Any idea what I may have done wrong?

@the504prince if you do not see a media or music folder then yes mine already had all those folders on it but those are the proper names of the folder
