Great clip! Thanks!

So they recorded the songs in the morning and then taped before millions of people that night? Even more impressive! lol
Maybe God has a plan for the popularity of all the misogynistic music of today...but I sure don't understand the plan. This is wonderful music!

@magique7771 I think he means the beach performance ,no prerecording there !

"Perfect pitch, a capella and no cue"? No, in their book and televised interviews they admit they lip synced. The difference in heights was more than the mics of that day could handle, so they studio recorded Saturday mornings, then lip synced at the live performance that evening. That being said, they were great great lip syncers. And how nice to actually know them!

@KelleyMag John's ancestry is also Irish, and the Lennon Sisters are of Irish-German descent on their father's side, and English-Spanish-Mexican on their mother's side.

@dexx600 I don't why this comment got negative votes. It's perfectly understandable to ask. I don't for certain if John and the Lennon Sisters were related, but John's family traced their ancestryt back to man named McClairnan (I don't know if the spelling is correct). The name got shortened to Lennon somewhere along the line.

@Sheri451 Your are sure right about the sadness with the loss of their dad Bill. He was a wonderful guy. I went to his funeral and it was, as you would expect, hugely attended and very emotional. The oldest boy (sisters' brother Dan, who is about four years younger than Janet), was the one who had to tell his mom the horrible news after the incident happened. They are a wonderful family. I was fortunate to attend church and school with them.

@fbenenati I love watching them on Lawrence Welk on PBS. And it was a horrible thing about their beloved father dying from a crazy man killing him in 1969. Kip never got to know him.

@Sheri451 Sheri, to my knowledge, Boatracer is correct. I did not mean to give you the impression that they had all returned to CA. Only Peggy has returned to CA. I believe Janet and Peggy's daughters performed with the sisters who remained in Branson. Boatracer keeps up with this family even better than I do now. Sure enjoyed growing up with then in 50's and 60's in Venice, CA, and seeing them a few times in Branson too more recently before they retired.

@boatracer39 That was a great year. Some of the very best movies of all time came out that year. But something very sad happened that year too. England was bombed by Germany. I'm not from England but I sympathise with Europe
Wow - sweet, tender and absolutely beautiful! They still sound as great now as they did then.
