  • @Gsus665 it actually had 4 mk108 cannons with a kind of early deflection calculating gunsight !! the plane was superior to anythg but americans bombed fuel factories and strafe the me262 on landing !! propeller squads had to cover the landing of the jets..americans even hunted cows those times =)

many pilots had problems with the high approaching speed in combat and often they rammed their targets.

note that this plane could have participated in ww2 muuuch earlier.heinkel jet flew 1940

  • This plane also had the first ejection seat.

  • @cobrachoppergirl Game ?

....ohm...the 262 had a MK-108-30-mm Rheinmetall Cannon. Few good hits and a strong bomber was finished. And it had the first air-air rockets ! if they got more time to proof it and made it perfect it would have been the strongest air-fighter in WW2. Sure you got not much time to hit another aircraft...but if i had the choice i would prefer the me262..it´s better to have problems to bring down the enemy..than to have NO chance to hit it cause its too fast :)

  • @joshlikewoah420 it´s highspeed was 870 kmh, wich is 540 mph, but it was still the fastes fighter in the WW2.top power was 7.000 hp.and sure it couldn´t change anything in the war.it was a little late mh :) it was concepted to fight other fighters, but hitler throws this away and wanted to have it a bomber and to bring allied bombers down. So it was a great plane for the wrong work. It was armed with R4M air-air Rockets and a strong 30 mm cannon...a hell of a jet....

  • thats true on random moments a mesquite would crumple up because of its fragile wood frame which was a huge disadvantage and most of the time if any plane with a light frame would do the same if he went into a stall luckly the 262 had a relativly strong frame and wings so there wasnt much problems

  • the 262 was the first fighter jet made in the 40s boy u should of seen the americans faces wen they saw a jet fly out in the sky

  • @joshlikewoah420 I think if he meant if you put it into a dive, at full speed. But at a speed like that the airframe would break apart from the Gs.

  • @cobrachoppergirl

    The 262 couldn't get anywhere NEAR 1,000mph.

  • The 262 didn't have enough ammo or firepower against the P51 in the game, which would shred it immediately with those eight 50 calibers and outturn it. That cannon was useless except against bombers perhaps, you were closing in on your target so fast you only had one or two seconds of fire, and only a few cannon rounds and then you were out. Only plus it had was if you dived and got it up to 1000, you could sustain and keep it there, far beyond its cruise speed of 400, and outrun anything.

  • The 262 was no match for an P51 one in the game, so what you would do was run away as fast as you could, curve upward high into the sky, dive to build up your speed to 1000, and then come straight at the P-51 chasing you head on, burst him, and escape using your speed. Put you on a 50/50 footing at least with him, and frustrated the P-51 pilot all to hell.
