  • How do you think the Fast Track 2 would sound in the mid against a Tone Zone S at the neck?...I adjust my mid pickup down low so Im not hittin it with my pick so Im figurin if the Tone Zone is rated at 300 & the Fast Track 2 is at 321 the offset in height adjustment between mid & neck could even them out to 300...However,I did noticed in your demo that the FastTrack 2 sounded kinda shrill & high pitched at the bridge so Im not sure it will deepen the tone enough puttin it in the mid position..

  • @frethand101 That's a tough question. Fast Track 2 is kind a harsh sounding and it's definitely not clean, but the tone also depends on what kind of amp you are using. For this video I used a small practice amp and it's not very good sounding.

  • Did you adjust the amp or pedal settings at all when you went between the 5 pickup positions, or was the difference in the sound you were producing based only on which pickups you were using? Seems like a huge jump in gain once you get to Fast Track 2 on its own!

  • @jgordon700

Fast Track is louder than Area pickups.

But I didn't change anything I was to lazy to do that :D

  • Grettings friend, need i the 500k pot for the fast tack 2?

  • @PoseidonGuitar

DiMarzio recomends to use 500k pots for Fast Track 2

    I use standard Stratocaster pots. That's 250k I guess.

500k sounds brighter and 500k pots are important if you use your volume control much.

  • cool brother

  • Too much blues for the Fast Track 2. It's really designed for Hard Rock and Metal, but I guess it could work for heavy blues too.

  • that would sound fuckin sexy with a little wah goin on

  • @BornToRockTV

Thanks a lot for the explanation!

Maybe I'll change it and also the paf with an Evo or Crunch Lab!

    See ya!

  • @CutTheSlayer

Ibanez FGM 300 has DiMarzio Fast Track 1.

FT1 has more trebles and is not so loud as FT2 but they both are really great pickups.
