It looks like low turnout & the bad European Economy are the causes for the Center Right making gains in the EU.
Hopefully the same thing won't happen in the US in 2009.

Sarko is indeed unpopular, but it's funny that after all this time of dipping popularity the left failed to take advantage of it, though the Left never did really pick itself up after their loss in the pres. race.
