These days, when members of the Northwestern University community are "talking trash," they probably aren't being impolite. More likely, they are going green. That's because issues like waste reduction, recycling and energy efficiency are major priorities for the University right now. You might be surprised to learn how this is changing the way things are done on campus.

  • Strange that they don't mention student initiatives at all. Those outdoor recycling bins were brought about totally by the efforts of activist students, and the GREEN house was a student led initiative. The administration has been receptive to students, but it has in no way changed to a whole new "culture of green". Give me a break - sustainability is still as tough to make happen at NU as it ever was.
