This is part of a Minimalist No-Damage playthrough of Mega Man X2. This means the following constraints:

- X takes no damage.
- The only allowed weapon is the X-Buster.
- No items of any kind may be obtained (upgrades, heart / sub tanks, etc).
- In addition, I've opted to keep a decent pace so that the videos are enjoyable to watch :)

The final stage! First up is the Zero fight, which is incredibly repetitive -- literally the exact same pattern. Charged shots are the way to go since Zero will typically block uncharged shots.

Zero fight begins: 0:50
Sigma fight begins: 3:21
Sigma Virus fight begins: 4:20

Sigma himself is fairly predictable; charged shots will dispatch him quickly. Sigma Virus is where the real challenge enters, especially for X-Buster only / no damage requirements. In general, to accomplish this requires precise dash jumping, knowledge of the timing of Sigma Virus's pattern of attacks, the ability to kill or avoid the mini enemies that appear, and a little luck (on my first attempt of this stage, I got almost to the end, and Sigma Virus spat out a combination of enemies that I simply couldn't avoid in my position!). Hope you enjoyed the series!

  • @Tempo613 When I was younger, I played a lot. These days not so much, but the muscle memory reflexes remain. That said, it still took several attempts from the start of the stage to get one without damage like this.

  • Wish I could play like this... You must've played this constantly to get this good.

  • @Supermariofan14 That's a rendering issue on the part of YouTube. In the video I uploaded, as well as in the game itself, the spotlights blink very rapidly. When displayed on YouTube, they blink TOO rapidly, causing them to either appear solid (as some do) or disappear entirely (as the one you noticed did).

Rest assured, that spotlight was still there, even on the .avi I uploaded, and you need to time your jump carefully to avoid that one.

  • What? Why was there one spotlight missing?
