  • An easy 7 hour paddle? If recollection saves me right NO ONE finished the race, the finish boat had to motor out past Mana Island as the finish line indtead of finishing on the WHENUA of the North Island instead of 12km short.

    Great feat though as the paddlers were up against a 7 knot current.

    You cant really call it finishing a race when no one did.

  • This team crossed a finish line that the organisers made and were given 1st prize for doing so, the prize was a free breakfast. Cost for team to compete a dam site more thant the breakfast

  • We finished at mana island. got out of the canoe. then got told tv wanted to see us paddle in. so we got back in and paddled. So im pretty sure we finished the course jayryd

  • Well Cuzzie kia ora for that I can appereciate your effort but having been one of those that done the Double crossing but if your oganiser had listened to those more experienced in these manners then it would have been a success.
