Ferrofluid raw footage from the music video for Seventeen Evergreen, "Haven't Been Yourself (Lucky Number Music)", Directed by Encyclopedia Pictura.

A ferrofluid is a liquid that becomes strongly polarised in the presence of a magnetic field. Ferrofluids are composed of nanoscale ferromagnetic particles suspended in a carrier fluid, usually an organic solvent or water. The ferromagnetic nano-particles are coated with a surfactant to prevent their agglomeration (due to van der Waals and magnetic forces). Although the name suggests otherwise, ferrofluids do not display ferromagnetism, since they do not retain magnetisation in the absence of an externally-applied field. In fact, ferrofluids display paramagnetism, and are often referred as being "superparamagnetic" due to their large magnetic susceptibility. Truly ferromagnetic fluids are difficult to create at present, requiring high temperatures and electromagnetic levitation.

  • ok, im suddenly bored of my lava lamp now that i've seen that.

  • Ferrofluid is so awesome, it's almost like it's trying to tell us "figure out levitation with me." lol

  • welcome to the dark side of the force

  • @zeragon21 Please do not try this. Ink toner is highly toxic, inhaling it while playing around with it could be dangerous.

You can buy commercial grade, safer ferro fluid from magnet stores online.

  • Please Do drink me I will dance in your tummy :3

  • That's not music..

  • Try drinking ink toner, you won't feel so good.

There are people who killed them self by drinking it

  • this looks like a slime monster.. so crazy, i love it

  • Ferrofluid isn't poisonous. you can make it your self with some ink toner and 100% vegetable oil.

  • stupid comment.

  • there are magnets in speakers
