Hello people!

This is the 5th part of the video screen capture I've done while painting "Hanagumori" : http://dianae.deviantart.com/art/Hanagumori-70756649

There are 8 parts total.

Part 1 http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=LTQnrRiC5lA
Part 2 http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=wQCOp51NTF8
Part 3 http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=oftWFKxq-Ac
Part 4 http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=_ea83VeaAAQ
Part 6 http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=-fLsL0Mi95Q
Part 7 http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=VIz6_hfwMBA
Part 8 http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=N7fBWM2-14E

This painting has been done in order to write a digital painting tutorial explaining the techniques I'm using to paint. This is just meant to be informative.

Tools used : Photoshop CS3 (but older versions can be used too, of course) and a wacom intuos 3A4 graphics tablet.

Total painting time : approximately 12 hours, but I've changed the speed of the video (1500%).

I've not put music so you can listen to your favourite music while watching it. I might write and record a specific soundtrack later if you feel that it really needs music, but this is just an informative video, not something artsy at all.

I hope that it can be useful, if you have any question, you can leave them in the comments, I'll try to reply the best I can.

Sorry for my bad english... I hope you'll understand though :)

  • i am inlove with this painting wow!!

one of the best paintings i've ever seen in my life you have talent!

  • Aww thank you :) Though I don't believe in talent but hard work with passion, patience and practise (that's what I'm used to call the "3Ps")

  • Since I've been watching all of these and studying them in detail, you might like to know that you're the most amazing artist I have ever encountered. My dA buddy Cannibal-Kabiki and I have held a whole conversation about how brilliant you are ;) We've decided it'd take us about 3 years to do something as great as this. Maybe a bit more... Keep up the fantastic work!

  • Aww, thank you so much! Though I'm not that great, there are plenty amazing artists all over the world. I'm still a student and I guess I'll learn things during my whole life...

    Thank you very much!

  • ok, now you're just making me feel miserable.

  • OMG, the level of detail in this painting is incredible! Your patience must be infinite. :)

  • @DianeOzdamar

Passion, Patience, Practice. I like that! Nice.

  • Its like watching life blossom before my eyes..

  • @AimBiZ I sort of agree with you. This "talent" that people are speaking of is a honed skill. Anyone has the physical and mental ability to do this if they tried hard enough, but like anything else, not everyone is willing to do that. Diane has put a lot of time and work into being able to do this and THAT is what I commend her for.

  • Yes, I just said it was a talent.. :/

  • @xbumrushx it is atalent, but you can improve yourself, if you have this talent.

  • What are you still learning? Oh, stop being humble. Art IS a talent. To just be able to create something that speaks to others is a gift. Everyone has their own.

  • Great to know that I'm not the only one who think that. For me the whole "talent" thing is rather a state of mind than something you're born with.
