i'll agree that the china engines are junk, porly made and no parts network. I do believe that this vac has a tecumseh engine on it, which is american made.

Just wondering if that Craftsman china motor is still running.....A friend of mine works there and says about every craftsman china motor sold has came back. He tells everyone to avoid them but they think they are saving a few bucks compared to the briggs....Sears has a manufacturing plant in china and they make motors,tools and anything else they can there. Make sure the craftsman wrench says "Made in U.S.A." on it. If it dont its china junk! Never trust reviews on sears.com salesman written.

What is the point? I had a sears 5 hp lawn mower with a rear bag and it sucked up everying. ALl you needed were a few extra bags and you could do a yard and pick up the fulled bags later.
