Guam - John Baldwin has been the subject of criticism from the opponents of Proposal A, who say the owner of Guam Greyhound should be more visible in the campaign. Today, he issued a letter, and took aim at former Governor Carl Gutierrez, who recently took out ads opposing the Responsible Gaming Act.
âDuring my recent conversations with Mr. Gutierrez while he was in Manila, he indicated that if I did not transfer to him and others a significant share of my ownership in Guam Greyhound Park, that he would lead a charge of community leaders to oppose Prop A citizenâs initiative,â he writes. âI respectfully declined Mr. Gutierrezâs ultimatum, and now find that he has decided to carry out his threats of publicly opposing Prop A along with other island leaders which he has influenced.â
Gutierrez was not available for comment.
