I would agree with this guy, except for the fact that privately owned media aren't required to tell you ther= actual truth when reporting the news. If we had a regulation to require this then NPR would not be necessary.

If we're talking about "the news", then there is a certain truth, a set of pure facts, that must be presented. The mainstream media in the United States doesn't do that- you even acknowledge this Lee, when you found out about the Nashville Flood.

I disagree with your statement. No companies in general (not just media companies) should get public funding, yet it is all over the place. From corn subsidies, ethanol subsidies to oil subsidies, there s public money distorting the market and creating winners and losers based on politics and not economics.
